SydneyKitchens (“we”, “us”) operates sydneykitchenshq.com.au. This policy explains what information we collect when you request a quote for kitchen renovation in Sydney, how we use it, and your choices. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you submit a quote request we collect the details you provide: such as your name, email address, phone number, postcode, property details, and project requirements. We also collect standard analytics data (pages viewed, approximate location, IP address, device and browser type) to understand how the site is used and improve it.

How we use it

• To match your request with local trade businesses who can quote on your project.
• To contact you about your enquiry.
• To measure and improve our marketing and website performance.

Who we share it with

Submitting your request does not send your details to a trade business. We get in touch with you first. Ticking the consent box lets us contact you about your request — it is not permission to pass your details on. Your enquiry and contact details go to a trade business only once you say yes to that named company, and to at most three companies in total. You can decline any introduction. Those businesses may pay us a fee for the introduction. We also use service providers (such as analytics and email delivery) who process data on our behalf, and we send hashed (pseudonymised) versions of your contact details to Meta for advertising measurement — see below.

We use cookies and similar technologies (including Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta) to measure traffic and the effectiveness of our advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Advertising measurement

When you submit a quote request, we tell Meta Platforms Inc. (Facebook and Instagram) that an enquiry happened. Before sending, your first name, last name, email address, phone number and postcode are each turned into a separate code (a SHA-256 hash). We also send a fixed code meaning “Australia”, which is the same for everyone. Meta matches these codes against the details it already holds, to work out whether the enquiry came from someone who saw one of our ads. Meta also uses this event to decide who to show our ads to, under Meta’s Business Tools Terms. Meta Platforms Inc. is based in the United States, so this information is disclosed outside Australia.

We want to be straight with you about what that code does and does not do. It is not anonymous. The same detail always produces the same code, and where there are only so many possible values — a four-digit postcode, a first name, or a mobile number — anyone holding the code can work back to the original by trying every value until one matches. On an ordinary computer that takes milliseconds for a postcode or a common first name, and seconds for a mobile number. So we treat sending these codes as disclosing your personal information to Meta, not as a way of avoiding that.

Some things go to Meta as they are, not coded: the address of the page you submitted from, which of our sites the enquiry came from and which trade it was for, your browser type, and — where our systems receive it — your IP address. We also send Meta’s own advertising identifiers for your browser, uncoded. One of them normally comes from a cookie Meta’s pixel set when you clicked the ad; if that cookie is missing we rebuild it from the ad link in the page address instead, so clearing cookies does not always stop it being sent. The other is sent only when Meta’s cookie exists. The ad settings in your Meta account limit what Meta may do with this information; they do not stop us sending it. You can ask us to delete the enquiry we hold (see “Your choices” below), but we cannot recall what has already gone to Meta.

Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We retain enquiry data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.
